Capabilities: Flat Optics
Flat Optics (a.k.a meta optics) is a game-changing technology that will revolutionalise the industry by significantly reducing the size, weight and cost of imaging and sensing devices while adding advanced wide-ranging functionalities that are currently unavailable. For example, it is possible to replace multi-element lenses several centimetres in size with a single flat lens that is a few millimetres in diameter and less than 1 millimetre thick. The manufacturing technique for flat optics leverages on the semiconductor manufacturing process where thousands of lenses can be fabricated on a single 300-mm diameter wafer.
